As part of the Cave Temples of Dunhuang exhibition at the Getty Center, The Cave 45: Virtual Immersive Experience used spherical 3D technology to digitally recreate a guided tour through Cave 45 of the Mogao Grottoes in China. The film was projected onto a 180° spherical screen creating a convincing illusion of being surrounded by the space. This experience, which marks the first installation of its kind, was developed using Panoramic Stereoscopic technology, enhancing realism by adding depth to the environment. yU+co was also responsible for creating all of the digital content for the exhibition.
