Created by The Tech Museum of Innovation + Local Projects in San Jose, CA, USA , 2016

Visitors to the Tech Museum of Innovation were treated to the basics of synthetic biology by allowing visitors to creatively manipulate genetic material. Sensor-based structures allowed museum-goers to create digital lifeforms using DNA, and bring them to life. Projection mapped instructional guides were accompanied by scientific explanations of the color and behaviors of digital bacteria they generated. Blending scientific practice with creative design allowed visitors to understand the mechanics of biology in a tangible way that was meant to inspire the scientists of the future.
