Originally designed to train and assist astronauts and engineers with virtual Mars mission operations, NASA JPL’s mixed reality OnSight system (created in collaboration with Caltech and Microsoft) was introduced to the general public in an interactive exhibition called Destination: Mars. With astronaut Buzz Aldrin as a virtual guide, visitors tour the sites of the Curiosity Mars rover’s most significant discoveries, alongside rover driver Erisa Hines.
