A Book From the Sky uses artificial intelligence to evaluate hundreds of thousands of handwritten Chinese characters to create new forms and meaning from existing language. By analyzing similarities between known images a computer was able to morph words using a kind of machine learning algorithm known as a convolutional neural network. This informed artificial intelligence helps to narrow down reoccuring elements of a grouping of images and apply them to create unique visualizations.
