Amazon Go
Created by Amazon in Seattle, WA, USA , 2018
Online retail giant Amazon simplified the shopping experience using sensor technology and a smartphone app for their “just walk out” grocery store concept featuring automatic check out. By running the app which calculates items picked up based on product sensor tracking and an array of cameras combined with machine learning, this shopping experience streamlines how users get their groceries without the need for waiting in line. The moment shoppers walk out with their items, their Amazon Go account is automatically charged for the items they’ve selected. This technology could easily be applied to concerts, festivals or other large events easing the flow of concession and souvenir purchases without the need to wait in massive lines.
