This large-scale point cloud-based exhibit exists on an LED wall at the entrance of the new Tokorozawa campus of Kadokawa Corporation near Tokyo. Drone footage of Tokorozawa Sakuratown was captured and used to create point cloud data of the town and its surrounding area. With that data, over 16 million points were visualized in real-time using a point cloud system built in TouchDesigner. "Ambience" is a proprietary system where all the processes including real-time animation, visualization and image effects can be edited, scheduled and displayed. The rich visual output changes dynamically based on weather, daylight hours, and other seasonal information obtained via a network API, so the complete experience reflects the changing seasons of real-world Sakuratown.
