An immersive VR art installation brings to life the personal journeys of migrants making their way to the U.S. from Mexico. Created by Award-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Carne Y Arena is a three-part exhibit built around a 6 ½-minute immersive virtual reality experience. Visitors cross a treacherous virtual desert barefoot at dawn wearing a heavy pack. Carne Y Arena is a powerful use of VR meant to inspire empathy by exploring the cultural history of simulated personal experiences.
