In 20 Steps
Created by Studio Drift in Venice, Italy , 2015
An exploration of man’s centuries-old fascination with flight, In 20 Steps is a large scale kinetic sculpture created for the 2015 Venice Art Biennale by Amsterdam-based design firm Studio Drift. Comprised of 40 glass bars suspended from the ceiling of an industrial warehouse by invisible wire, the sculpture relies on a mechanized motor system to create an elegantly wing-like up and down gesture.
