A massive upscaling of pinscreen toys of old, MegaFaces transforms digital scans of spectators’ faces into eight-meter-high kinetic sculptures. London-based architecture firm Asif Khan Studio debuted the work at the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 – a 2000 sq meter cube comprised of 11,000 actuators beneath the installation’s so-called skin, with each actuator capped by an RGB LED light that acts as a single, color-changing pixel.
